Privacy Policy

What this site collects, what it doesn't, and exactly how your information is handled.

Last updated: February 2026

This privacy policy explains what information Xcapeworld collects when you visit xcapeworld.com, how that information is used, and what choices you have. It is written to be read and understood — not to hide anything in legal language.

1. Who Runs This Site

Xcapeworld is an independent outdoor writing platform operated by T James. The site covers nature, wilderness survival, camping, hiking, foraging, wildlife, outdoor travel, and nature news. It is hosted on Blogger, a platform owned by Google.

2. What Information Is Collected

Xcapeworld does not directly collect, store, or process personal information from visitors. There are no registration forms, no user accounts, and no email capture forms on this site.

However, because Xcapeworld is built on Blogger and uses third-party services including Google Analytics and affiliate platforms, certain data may be collected automatically by those services when you visit. This includes:

Usage data — pages visited, time spent on pages, referring URLs, browser type, device type, and general geographic location (country or region level). This data is collected by Google Analytics and is used solely to understand how content is being read and which topics are most useful to visitors.

Technical data — IP addresses and session identifiers processed by Google's infrastructure as part of normal Blogger hosting operations. Xcapeworld does not have direct access to this data at an individual level.

Affiliate click data — if you click an affiliate link on this site, the destination retailer (such as Walmart) may set cookies on your device to track the referral. This is handled entirely by the retailer's own systems. Xcapeworld receives aggregate commission data but not individual visitor data.

3. Cookies

Xcapeworld does not set its own cookies. Cookies may be set on your device by the following third-party services used on this site:

Google / Blogger — as the hosting platform, Google may set cookies related to site functionality, analytics, and advertising. Google's cookie and privacy practices are governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

Google Analytics — used to collect anonymous usage statistics. Google Analytics uses cookies to track sessions and page interactions. No personally identifiable information is collected through this service as used on Xcapeworld. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Affiliate partners — clicking affiliate links may result in cookies being set by the destination retailer. These cookies are used by the retailer to track purchases for commission purposes. They are governed by the retailer's own privacy policy.

YouTube — some pages on Xcapeworld embed YouTube videos. YouTube may set cookies when video content loads. These cookies are governed by Google's privacy policy. Videos are loaded via standard YouTube embed and use the standard YouTube player.

🍪

To manage or block cookies from any of the above services, use your browser's built-in privacy settings. Most modern browsers allow you to view, block, or delete cookies at any time.

4. The Field Observation Journal Tool

🔒

The Field Observation Journal collects nothing. All data entered into the journal tool on the Survival page exists only in your browser session on your device. Nothing is transmitted to Xcapeworld, stored on any server, or accessible to any third party.

The Field Observation Journal is a free, client-side tool that runs entirely within your browser. No entry you make — no observation notes, no location information, no field data of any kind — is ever sent anywhere. When you close the page or end your browser session, all entries are gone permanently unless you downloaded them first.

PDF downloads generated by the journal are created locally on your device. Xcapeworld has no access to downloaded files and receives no data from the download process.

5. Affiliate Links & Third-Party Sites

Xcapeworld contains affiliate links to third-party retailers. When you click an affiliate link and visit a retailer's website, you are leaving Xcapeworld and entering a site governed by that retailer's own privacy policy. Xcapeworld is not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-party site.

Xcapeworld may receive a small commission if you make a purchase after clicking an affiliate link. The commission data received is aggregate and does not include personally identifiable visitor information.

6. Google Blogger Platform

Xcapeworld is hosted on Blogger, a Google platform. By visiting this site, you are also subject to Google's data collection practices as a hosting provider. Google may collect data through Blogger infrastructure including server logs, CDN activity, and platform-level analytics independent of anything Xcapeworld controls.

For full details on how Google handles data through its platforms, refer to the Google Privacy Policy and Google Terms of Service.

7. Children's Privacy

Xcapeworld is not directed at children under the age of 13. No content on this site is designed to collect information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information through any mechanism on this site, please contact us so it can be addressed.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding personal data collected about you — including the right to access, correct, or request deletion of that data. Because Xcapeworld does not directly collect or store personal information, most data rights requests would need to be directed to the relevant third-party platforms (Google, affiliate retailers) that may hold data related to your visit.

Visitors in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom have additional rights under GDPR and UK GDPR. Visitors in California have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). If you have a specific privacy concern related to your visit to Xcapeworld, you can reach out through the contact options on this site.

9. Data Security

Xcapeworld does not store personal data and therefore does not maintain a personal data security infrastructure. Security of data processed by third-party services (Google, affiliate platforms) is governed by those services' own security standards and policies.

10. Changes to This Policy

This privacy policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in site functionality, third-party services used, or applicable law. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of Xcapeworld after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

11. Contact

If you have questions about this privacy policy or how your data is handled in connection with this site, you can reach out through the contact options available on Xcapeworld.
